Isabel Zabel Ananian passed away on May 12, 2009, after a year long struggle with cancer.
She was born December 1, 1924, to Hagop and Araxie Gefairjian in Manhattan, NYC. She
graduated from Washington Irving High School and was a student at NYU Business College as an accounting major and working
at the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. in New York City. She retired as Trust Auditor from
the United Jersey Banks in Hackensack, New
Jersey, and was a founding member of Saint
Thomas Armenian Church in Tenafly, N.J.,
where she chaired many committees and
taught Sunday school.
She leaves behind her beloved husband of 63 years: Stephen; two sons:
Stephen Junior, and Clifford and wife Pamela; four grandchildren: Clifford
Scott Ananian Ph.D, Dr. Christopher Lee Ananian MD, Megan Nichole
Ananian, and Stephen Brock Ananian; great-grandson: Tyler Jayden
Ananian; and also two sisters: Ann Gregory and Lillian Kouletsis.
We all miss her dearly.
Memorial services will be conducted 2 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2009, in
Markley Chapel of Christ Church, Episcopal, Greenville, S.C.
